Sustainable cooling is high on the agenda at this year’s UN Climate Change Conference in Madrid (COP25), with EPEE using the opportunity to showcase its #CountOnCooling White Paper
As world leaders convene for COP25 this week, the European Partnership for Energy and the Environment (EPEE) is in Madrid to promote its vision for sustainable cooling.
On Tuesday, EPEE’s Director-General Andrea Voigt attended a high level panel discussion hosted by UNEP’s Climate and Clean Air Coalition and the Institute for Governance & Sustainable Development (IGSD). At the event, EPEE had the privilege to present the #CountOnCooling White Paper. Speakers included French Minister Élisabeth Borne and United Nations Goodwill Ambassador Bertrand Piccard.
Later that day, the International Energy Agency (IEA) held a roundtable on Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG7), which calls for ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all by 2030. Once more, sustainable cooling featured in the discussion as participants acknowledged the key role this sector plays in providing wellbeing in modern life.
Following an eventful week for #CountOnCooling, EPEE’s Andrea Voigt commented “We have a great story to tell, a story of solutions that can address the energy and emissions challenge in a proactive and constructive way. Now we need to make it happen!”
